In 2007, Magpul introduced the world to the polymer magazine known as the PMAG. The PMAG was a revolutionary idea in a world where metal STANAG magazines reign supreme. Magpul proved with innovation and refinement that the PMAG is a superior product over traditional steel magazines. The company has taken that experience and, after years of R&D, developed a translucent magazine that meets its industry-leading performance and reliability standards. Magpul is proud to introduce the TMAG Gen M3 Magazine.

The TMAG is molded from a durable, high-impact translucent polymer material with an olive-drab hue. The magazine is meticulously designed for STANAG-compatible weapon platforms, including the iconic M16, M4, and SCAR-L. The ability to peer into the magazine allows shooters to verify and manage their current round count with that magazine. The TMAG also features front and rear serrations for improved grip during magazine changes, while the sides are left smooth for enhanced visibility.

The TMAG Gen M3 integrates the internal geometry of the Gen M3 family, which results in excellent performance and reliability when feeding. The interior features include a four-way anti-tilt follower combined with a USGI-spec, stainless-steel spring with a painted coil. The painted spring allows the TMAG to maintain the iconic “gas gauge” feature from Magpul’s windowed magazines. The magazine is marked to show approximations of round counts when inserted into the rifle. The TMAG’s floor plate is compatible with Magpul’s full lineup of PMAG GEN M3 floor-plate accessories.

Here is the full product description for the TMAG directly from Magpul’s website.

Product Description

The TMAG 30 AR/M4 GEN M3 is a highly reliable, translucent, 30-round magazine for STANAG-compatible weapons chambered in 5.56×45 NATO/.223 Remington. Molded from a durable translucent material with an olive drab hue, it provides shooters the ability to visibly verify various ammunition types and the current round count. Featuring ribbed front and rear straps for improved purchase during magazine changes, the sides are left smooth to enhance visibility.

Like the rest of the GEN M3 family of magazines, the TMAG incorporates similar internal geometry which translates into unmatched reliability when firing. The four-way, anti-tilt follower is paired with a durable USGI-spec, stainless-steel spring with a painted coil, which maintains the “gas gauge” capability from the “Window” magazine product line. The magazine body is clearly marked to show approximate round counts when inserted in a magazine well, and the paint-pen dot matrix allows for custom markings to be applied by the shooter. The TMAG’s low-profile floor plate also allows for compatibility with the full line of PMAG® AR/M4 GEN M3 floor-plate accessories.

The TMAG is optimized for Colt-spec AR15/M4 platforms, but modified internal and external geometry also permits operation with a range of other weapons such as the HK® 416/MR556A1/M27 IAR, FN® SCAR™ MK 16/16S, and others.
