Zenith Firearms has built a solid reputation for producing high-quality HK MP5 clones using authentic H&K tooling. With an extensive understanding of the MP5 system and design, the Virginia-based company now ventures into a new realm, aiming to blend the H&K 53 and M4 platforms into a singular offering. Enter the ZF-56, the latest innovation from Zenith Firearms.

The ZF-56 is a semi-automatic pistol or rifle featuring a roller-delayed blowback system. This innovative design ensures reliable cycling, a smooth recoil impulse, and enhanced shooting comfort by reducing felt recoil. Boasting a cold hammer-forged barrel and a full-length Picatinny rail, the ZF-56 also sports an M-Lok handguard and is compatible with standard AR-15 magazines.

Drawing inspiration from the roller-delay system found in both the compact MP5 and the larger G3 platforms, the ZF-56’s internals combine the best of both worlds. Its bolt mirrors that of the MP5 but with added robustness. The lower receiver has been tailored to accommodate standard AR magazines while retaining the trigger pack and ergonomic feel of the MP5. The ZF-56 will be offered in 12, 14.5, and 16-inch variants, with an additional .300 Blackout option for enthusiasts.

The ZF-56 by Zenith merges the functionality of the MP5 with the ergonomic features of the AR platform. Zenith aims to strike a harmonious balance between these two concepts, anticipating the next leap forward in firearm innovation. Only time will reveal the success of this endeavor and how it resonates with consumers. Anticipated for release later this year, the ZF-56 is expected to retail for approximately $2,500 MSRP.
