At Shot Show 2017, Hudson Manufacturing unveiled the Hudson H9, a groundbreaking pistol that blended the classic 1911 grip and trigger with a contemporary striker-fire system. Despite its innovative design, the Hudson H9 experienced a brief lifespan of only three years before the company ceased operations. However, the story didn’t end there. Daniel Defense acquired the rights and blueprint of the Hudson H9, embarking on a covert mission to reimagine and rebuild the iconic firearm. The culmination of their efforts is the Daniel Defense H9, the company’s inaugural pistol.

Crafted from T-7075 aluminum, the Daniel H9 boasts a lightweight yet resilient construction. Its CNC-machined slide features front and rear serrations, facilitating seamless manipulation. Inside the slide lies a match-grade Cold Hammer Forged (CHF) barrel, boasting a 1:10 twist rate to ensure precision. Equipped with a blackout rear sight complemented by a fiber optic front sight, the H9 is optic-ready, accommodating a variety of RDS options. Each Daniel Defense H9 package includes two 15-round magazines.

The Daniel H9 seamlessly merges the ergonomic excellence of the iconic 1911 with the reliability of a striker-fire mechanism. With a low bore axis unmatched by its counterparts, the H9 minimizes muzzle flip and recoil, enabling faster, more accurate follow-up shots. Its modular design allows for effortless customization, featuring a 1911-style trigger with an integrated safety. Moreover, the pistol’s slim profile and ambidextrous controls ensure exceptional handling and manipulation.

This redesign of the Hudson H9 by Daniel Defense breathes new life into the classic 1911 form factor, offering a contemporary take on a beloved design. The Daniel H9 is slated for release later this year, with an estimated retail price of $1,300.
