Elevate Your Build: Aero Precision’s New MOD 4 Handguards Now Available
Earlier this year at SHOT Show, we got our first look at Aero Precision’s latest innovation in handguard systems. Building on lessons learned from the Atlas R-One handguards, Aero is proud to introduce the new MOD 4 Handguards. MOD stands for Minimal Optical Deflection, reflecting the product’s focus on reducing deflection under load.
The MOD 4 handguards combine robust construction with superior ergonomics, ensuring no compromise between durability and user comfort. Engineered with an emphasis on rigidity, the MOD 4 significantly reduces deflection when adding a laser aiming device to your setup. The handguards are securely attached to the barrel and upper receiver via a steel barrel nut, further minimizing point-of-impact shifts for your laser aiming device.
The MOD 4 also features full-length, 7-sided M-LOK slots and steel-reinforced QD (Quick Disconnect) sockets, offering shooters plenty of options for sling mounting. Available in Black, OD Green, and Kodiak Brown, the MOD 4 handguards come in various lengths, including 10.6”, 11.4”, 12.7”, and 15”, among others. Below is the product description and key features of Aero Precision’s new MOD 4 handguards.
Product Description
The Aero Precision Minimal Optical Deflection (MOD) 4 Handguard seamlessly blends robust construction with an ergonomic form factor, ensuring no compromises between the two. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, the handguard is engineered with a focus on stiffness to drastically reduce deflection under load. It attaches to the upper receiver via a steel barrel nut, which also serves to significantly reduce point-of-impact shift when using an infrared laser aiming device under load.
In addition to its premium engineering, the MOD 4 handguard offers several quality-of-life improvements. A full-length, 7-sided M-LOK™ interface allows users to customize their build according to their preferences. The steel-reinforced QD sockets enhance durability, ensuring they withstand wear when interfaced with standard steel QD sling attachments. Installation of this handguard is simplified, as the need for timing has been eliminated, and the barrel nut lug pattern matches mil-spec castle nuts, removing the need for specialty tools. Two anti-rotation set screws provide additional security, ensuring a tailored fit with third-party upper receivers.
