Springfield Armory has just announced the latest addition to their expanding family of 1911 pistols with the Garrison 1911. The Garrison will feature the great ergonomics and aesthetics of iconic 1911,just chambered in friendly 9mm. The new 1911 from Springfield Armory will be available in stainless steel or a hot salt blued carbon steel version.

The Garrison is an iconic representation of the 1911 platform. The only difference is that the Garrison is chambered in 9mm versus the classic .45 ACP. The Garrisons will feature forged frame and slide, a match grade barrel, low profile sights, extended safety controls, Thinline grips, and (1) 9-round magazine. The Garrison embodies the character of the original 1911 with modernized performance and quality of life improvements for the platform.

The new Garrison 1911s are available now through all of Springfield’s dealers. The stainless steel model will retail for $899. While the blued model will retail for $849.
