Wilson Combat has recently announced the introduction of LeHigh’s new Xtreme Defense Ammunition that will be made available through their website. The new defensive ammunition by LeHigh will be for both handgun and rifle featuring the company’s solid copper bullets. The solid copper bullets are designed to penetrate deep and expand aggressively in order to defeat clothing and drywall without diminishing lethality of the round. The new Xtreme Defense Ammunition by LeHigh will be available in 9mm, .45 ACP, .223, and .300 Blackout.
Below, is press release from LeHigh Defense on its new lineup of defensive ammunition.
Press Release
Now available – Xtreme Defense ammunition in 9mm, .45 ACP, .380 ACP, 10mm, and .40 S&W. Xtreme Defense is machined from solid copper with the most advanced technology called Fluid Transfer Monolithic.
The progressive geometry allows for deep, straight penetration while creating a permanent wound cavity diameter exceeding that of most expanding bullets. Penetrating barriers such as drywall or heavy clothing prior to impacting the intended target doesn’t have the potentially negative effect on the Xtreme Defense that it does to conventional hollow point bullets.
Controlled Chaos ammunition in 300 Blackout, 300 HAM’R, .223 Remington and .308 Winchester. Controlled Chaos bullets offer both rapid expansion and deep penetration. Once fluid is impacted, they shed the front portion of the bullet into multiple petals that radiate outward away from the bullet’s initial trajectory path resulting in a massive energy spike. The bore diameter base of the bullet continues and penetrates deeply in a straight line. Both the temporary and permanent wound cavity created by this bullet separation is dramatic resulting in quick incapacitation.
A full line of Lehigh Defense bullets are now available including Maximum Expansion, Controlled Fracturing, Match Solid, Wide Flat Nose, Controlled Chaos, Xtreme Penetrator, Enhanced Xtreme Penetrator, Xtreme Defense, and Enhanced Xtreme Defense.
At the time of writing this article there are over 10 new options available on Wilson’s website. Most of the available options being your common pistol rounds such as 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45ACP. While offering .223 REM, 300 BLK, 300 Hammer, and .308 for rifle.
